      Overview:
      OIS has an enrollment of students from over twenty-five countries around the world. We accept applications for admission at any time, and each application is dealt with on an individual basis through a careful process combining submission of relevant documentation, interviews and assessment of abilities and needs. Information regarding this process is detailed in these pages, along with links to forms and required documentation.       OIS exists primarily to serve the needs of international expatriate families who reside in the Kansai and have a clear need for an English based education. OIS has the resources to support children with mild learning disabilities. Admissions will be decided based on space available, language balance of the grade level in question, past student achievement and motivation, and language support at home. OIS seeks motivated students who will be able to succeed in a challenging and well rounded program.

      The Academic Year & Entry Dates:
      The OIS academic year runs from late August to late June. The year is split into three trimesters, Fall, Winter and Spring, of approximately 60 days each. Our main intake of new students comes at the beginning of the academic year, however we accept admissions throughout the year in order to meet the needs of the international community in Kansai and the rest of Japan.

      Forms & Documentation:
      All forms are available from the admissions downloads page (http://www.senri.ed.jp/en/links/downloads-2/forms/). To receive an application form by mail or fax please contact the school using the details on the Contact Us page (http://www.senri.ed.jp/en/1266-2/).

      In addition to the Student Application Form parents are required to submit the following:

      1. 2 letters of recommendation "principal" and "teacher". These must be sealed by the referees and returned directly to the OIS Admissions Office.
      2. Student health record. *
      3. Student physical examination report. *
      4. Official records including standardized test results (IOWA, ITBS, ERB, etc) from all previous schools attended.
      5. 40,000 yen application fee (payable in cash on the interview and evaluation day).
      6. Other information which may be helpful in assessing a student's educational needs

      The recommendation and health forms are all available for download with the appropriate Elementary or Middle/High School Application Booklet below (http://www.senri.ed.jp/en/1266-2/). All documents should be mailed directly to the Admissions Office.

      * Please note that the health record and physical examination report need only be submitted after successful completion of the admissions process.
